Playing without an account

You can play every game without an account. Your games, settings and stats are stored only in your browser on your device (local storage and IndexedDB). We don’t receive them.

If you create an account

We store your email address, a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself), your handle, display name and chosen avatar, your saved games, stats and settings (so they sync across devices), your friends list, friend requests, blocks and reports, game invites and the results of games you play with friends. Your profile shows only your display name, handle and avatar.

Accounts are for people aged 13 and older. We ask for your birth month and year when you sign up to check this; we keep only a note that you met the age requirement, not your birth date.

Cookies

When you sign in we set one essential cookie that keeps you signed in. It can’t be read by scripts and is only sent over secure connections. We don’t use advertising cookies without asking you first where the law requires it.

Email

We email you only for account matters: confirming your email address and resetting your password.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a push address from your browser so we can tell you about game invites and friend requests. You can turn this off at any time.

Advertising and analytics

We may show ads from Google AdSense on some pages and use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages are used. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before any personalized advertising. Ads never appear on printed puzzles.

Deleting your data

You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your Account page. Deleting your account removes your profile, saves, friends and invites from our database.
